We need to know numbers for all courses in the next few weeks so if you are DEFINITELY coming then please book up now.
Based on previous feedback from students and tutors, we shall be limiting numbers on some courses as we really want to make sure that we can provide the best quality experience for ALL students. Remember, it’s first come first served and we don’t want to have to put you on the waiting list!!!!
Bring a friend and get £50 off!
When we ask people how they heard of M4P, the most popular answer is ‘A friend told me’. So, to encourage friends to bring a friend who has not been to the Summer School before, we are offering a £50 discount again this year. So don’t delay, go on and ask that friend you spoke to when you came back from last years’ summer school and told them what a great time you had!
M4P is offering the equivalent of a total of FIFTEEN FREE BURSARIES to give away this year! The deadline for applications is 27th April. Do please let anyone know who might be interested, or apply yourself. Scholarship Form https://www.m4p.org.uk/resources/PDFs/M4P-Bursaries-2019.pdf
If you know of a potential applicant for the Singing Bursary or the Single Parent Bursary then please point them in the direction of an application form on the website. Scholarship Form https://www.m4p.org.uk/resources/PDFs/M4P-Bursaries-2019.pdf
We also have other discounts available – for Families and Children. Please see the website and / or the brochure for further details. Please note that only one discount is available. The one Discount payable with others is our Early Bird Discount
If you have already looked at the Brochure, whether it was one you were sent or our online brochure Website https://www.m4p.org.uk, you will see that we have new courses and new tutors.
We are very happy to welcome Graeme Leak to our tutoring team. He is introducing new courses, “Make & Play Orchestra” and “Rhythm Orchestra” to our list of courses.
Also, we are delighted to add Rachel Broadbent to our Woodwind Team as a double reeds specialist.
Rob Gildon, our very popular “Solo Singing”, “Opera/Music Theatre Performance” and “Singing for the Terrified” tutor, is unable to join us for the 2019 School due to his other singing commitments. We are therefore seeking a replacement to continue these courses while he cannot be with us. We shall let you know when we have a replacement tutor in place.
If you are part of a musical group and you’d like to give out some brochures or put up a poster then please e-mail requesting some to be sent to you. Please include your name and address in the e-mail. email@example.com Also downloadable from the Website https://www.m4p.org.uk (see the blue box front page)
As you know the entire school is organised by a dedicated band of volunteers. The current committee would like to be able to hand the school onto the next generation in good order for the future. The school needs to constantly evolve to meet student needs. To do this we need some younger blood in the form of some new committee members. So if you would like to offer some of your spare time to take on a few duties then please contact Jill Snowdon at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kevin John at email@example.com
Thank you to everyone who made a donation to M4P at Summer School, especially if you found some interesting music or instrument from Jennie Vaughan’s estate that you will play and remember her by. Don’t forget if you are a tax payer you can gift aid your donations and increase their value by 25%. You may wish to make regular donations by Standing Order. Our details are on the website
More and more of us do much of our shopping on-line, and it can be a simple way of raising additional funds for Music for People at absolutely no cost to yourselves. Sites such as Amazon, Play.com, NEXT, Fashion World, Staples, John Lewis, HMV, Rated People, various Holiday sites and many more subscribe to the scheme which can raise anything from 1% to 15% of the amount you spend for M4P. We have already raised over £300 through this scheme, and it is so easy …
All you have to do is visit Easyfundraising https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk and when you register, select Music for People (Summer School of Music) as the organisation you wish to support. Save the link in your Favourites list, then you can just click on the easyfundraising site and go through them each time you wish to shop online.
Searching the Internet: Even if you’re not buying anything online you can still help raise money for M4P every time you use the internet. Just use the easysearch search engine, part of easyfundraising. Easyfundraising is a member of the Institute of Fundraising.
We want this newsletter to be useful and informative – and we want you to feel you can use it too. If you have any information you wish to publicise to other summer school students eg:
- you want to recruit members for a “self-organised group” at the school;
- you are seeking or offering a lift to the school;
- you have instruments or music for sale;
please forward a short note to Jill Snowdon at firstname.lastname@example.org or by snail mail -
